Global cottonseed production in 2022 was 35.76 million metric tons, with production in 2023 estimated to be 42.11 million metric tons (Shahbandeh, 2022a). Cottonseed ranks fifth after soybean, palm, canola, and sunflower as a source of oilseed crops for protein (Zia et al., 2021 ).
